Step #1
Make sure you have purchased the CFR D or Double D rack. It is the base of the CFR Single ski bracket system.
Step #2
Drill mounting holes on rack first with rack off of snowmobile. Secure rack on snowmobile using instructions included with rack. After rack is mounted on snowmobile proceed to mount single ski system on rack.
Step #3
Look at D/ Double D rack diagram on front of instructions. Drill 2 1/8th pilot holes. Switch and drill 2 9/32nd holes in pilot holes on each side of rack in single/dual ski rear mounting holes. Then move to front of rack and drill one hole on each side of rack in single ski strap mounting points.
Step #5
Place ½” spacer between horizontal mounting point of single ski brackets and metal plate of rack. This will keep brackets level. Place single ski bracket on rack and using ratchet handle and open-end wrench. Fasten all pieces down securely with all hardware provided. Put strap on top of its mounting spot and make it hand tight so you can adjust accordingly with ski and pole in place.
Step #6
If skis have any type of plate or lift between binding the tails must go on the running board. The front binding should be touching the single ski bracket on the inside. If skis have no plate in-between bindings ski can go tip or tails on running board. If the ski is going tip down on running board. The tip of ski must be resting on running board and the bracket should be between bindings touching the front binding.
Step #7
With ski and pole positioned in rack put Ladder strap a few clicks into ratchet buckle. Position Ladder strap with mounting bracket holding it tight at a 45 degree angle. Place Ladder mounting bracket in desired location on the side of tunnel of snowmobile. Mark two holes in the ladder mounting bracket with hole punch . Check behind tunnel where you are about to drill. Is there anything behind the tunnel that will obstruct mounting? If no proceed to next step. If yes reposition mounts to an area free from obstructions. Drill a 1/8th pilot hole followed by a 9/32nd hole in marked spots. Put bolts inside tunnel and through hole so threads are sticking out. Place washer and bolt on threads. Tighten snug. Place ski and pole in rack and Adjust strap to fit ski and pole. Repeat on other side.
Step #8
Place U channel under the ski where it comes into contact with running boards. Take ski off rack and using hole punch mark where U channel needs to be mounted. Check underneath running boards and make sure you will not drill into any cooling vents ect. Drill hole with 1/8th pilot hole followed by 9/32nd hole and secure U channel with hardware provided.
