JACK HANNAN R.I.P

On wednesday March 31st we lost Jack Hannan to an Avalanche in Pemberton BC. Jack was such a great person to hang out with. He was alway down to go skiing, snowmobiling,Mt Biking trail building whatever. We knew him for 5 years but it felt like a lifetime. There are not many people with Jacks motivation and super jedi mountain skills. He seemed to always find a way to get his snowmobile to the top of everything. Here are some photos of Jack on some of our good times we spent together.

Here is the last day we went out playing in the mountains. Jack and his awesome wife Laura all smiles about to drop into the Billy Goat spines.

Jack and i trying to patch a hole in the pipe of his snowmobile with a Red Bull Can.

It only lasted about 10 feet. Luckily Jack and John both had the same snowmobile so they were able to leap frog there pipes back and forth to the truck.

Hanging out with Jack and John in the mountains always challenged me. Skiers tend to like different stuff than snowboarders. Steep and icy exposed lines were sometimes the norm and i always tried to not say no. Here we were on top of Mt Kayley on a icy line with some exposure. I think this was the most scared i had been all season.

This was one of the most memorable trips with Jack. We were going to do Plynth Peak. The trail in had a huge avalanche that had crossed the road. We looked all over to get around it. Jack was convinced we could go up and over it. After some shoveling he was right.
